Quail Run Farm: A Regenerative Farm Stay Experience

Tucked away in Lookout Valley, Tennessee, Quail Run Farm is a veteran-owned, family-operated regenerative farm dedicated to sustainable agriculture and ethically sourced products. As part of Farm Stays, Quail Run offers visitors a chance to step into the rhythms of farm life—where rolling pastures, grazing livestock, and fresh, farm-raised food create an unforgettable retreat.

Meet the Farmers: The Riley Family

At the heart of Quail Run Farm are Joe and Rachel Riley, who, along with their three young sons, are restoring this historic farmland to its former vibrancy. Both Tennessee natives, Joe and Rachel’s journey to Quail Run was one of faith and heritage. After meeting while pursuing their PhDs at Oxford University—4,000 miles away—they felt called to return home. In 2022, they found Quail Run, just an hour from Joe’s hometown of Etowah, and became the third family to steward the land.

With deep family roots in dairy, beef, and crop farming, the Rileys see Quail Run as more than a farm—it’s a legacy they are passing to their children and a place they invite others to experience firsthand. Whether Joe is herding cattle on horseback or Rachel is tending to the chickens, their commitment to regenerative farming is evident in every aspect of the land they cultivate.

Stay Among the Fields & Animals

As a Farm Stays destination, Quail Run welcomes guests to experience the beauty and authenticity of farm life. Stay in our spacious farmhouse, wake up to the sounds of nature, and gather around the firepit under a starlit sky. Guests can enjoy a hands-on connection to farm life, whether it's watching the cattle graze, collecting fresh eggs, or simply savoring the tranquility of the countryside.

Farm Fresh & Ethically Raised

At Quail Run, we believe in raising food the right way. Our pasture-raised meats, farm-fresh eggs, and local honey are produced with care, ensuring the highest quality while respecting the land and animals. Whether you're here for a peaceful getaway or to experience the beauty of regenerative farming, Quail Run offers an immersive farm stay that nourishes both body and soul.

Where Simple Joys Meet Sustainable Living

Nestled in the valley of Lookout Mountain, Quail Run Farm is the place where simple joys of life meet sustainable living. Founded by Joe and Rachel Riley in 2022, Quail Run Farm began with a love for the land and a vision to create something for their future family. When they found the property from a couple no longer able to maintain it, Joe and Rachel recognized the beauty and potential of this farm—both in the landscape and in the stories it could tell.

Growing a Farm, Growing a Legacy

Starting with a small flock of chickens, the Rileys quickly grew their operation, expanding to raise black angus cattle. Along the way, they acquired a neighboring farm that specialized in red wattle hogs and turkeys, allowing Quail Run Farm to become a hub of regenerative agriculture in the Chattanooga area. Now, they have a diverse fauna to include cattle, hogs, chickens, hens, ducks, quail, guineas, horses, and more. The focus at Quail Run has always been sustainability—nurturing the land through regenerative practices that prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and humane animal treatment.

A Vision Beyond Food Production

The vision for Quail Run Farm extends beyond just food production. Joe and Rachel, both passionate about connecting people with the land, also wanted to offer an experience that would allow guests to slow down, reconnect with nature, and appreciate the hard work that goes into running a farm. This led to the creation of a one-of-a-kind agrotourism experience, where visitors can stay in cozy yurts, modern tiny homes, charming cabins, or even innovative grain bin silo homes.

Experience the Rhythm of Farm Life

Guests who come to Quail Run Farm are invited to experience farm life firsthand. Whether you're waking up to the sounds of birds singing in the morning or watching the cows graze in the pasture, every moment at Quail Run is a chance to reconnect with nature. During your stay, you can take guided farm tours, learn about regenerative farming practices, and interact with the animals—feeding the chickens, petting the pigs, or even helping with the morning chores. It's a peaceful and immersive experience that leaves guests with a newfound respect for where their food comes from and how they can support sustainable practices in their own lives.
